Dr. Nicole Christian
Nicole Christian, Ph.D., NCC, LAC is a counselor, counselor educator, and social justice advocate. Dr. Christian holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Montclair State University and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Caldwell University. Her doctoral dissertation explored the sexual identity development of same-gender loving West Indians, in which she presented counseling implications and strategies for providing identity-affirming services to members of this population.
Her counseling expertise and scholarship are in the areas of counseling LGBTQ+ persons, multicultural counseling/competence, and religion/spirituality in counseling practices. She has over 14 years of experience as a school counselor and has presented at numerous national and international academic and professional conferences on topics related to counseling diverse populations. Dr. Christian is a full-time school counselor and an adjunct professor in the Masters Counseling programs of Montclair State University and University of Denver. In her spare time, she enjoys beach days at home in Antigua and exploring New York City. She is also a lover of art, especially all art-forms that depict queer love.
Dr. Christian serves as Intersect’s Queer Identity and Advocacy Consultant.
