Shannon Meade
As Intersect Antigua’s Resident Historian Shannon is am fascinated and inspired by Caribbean History and Literature. She has extensive experience working in the museum sector and enjoys uncovering the connections that link those of Caribbean descent, both at home and abroad, with their roots, and in particular teasing out new feminist interpretations from documents, objects and historical figures that may help shape our future understanding of what it means to be from this region.
To share these discoveries and showcase the legacy of Caribbean accomplishments, and with a special focus of Antiguan contributions, sits near and dear to her heart. She believes that her MA in Heritage and Interpretation places her in a unique position to do so.
Moreover, in her current role as an Art Technician she is also intrigued by the blending of Historical Interpretation and Art in all its forms (written, media and sound) and part of her involvement in Intersect Antigua’s mission is to spark curiosity and engagement where they overlap.
